Recently I have created one standard user account Without admin privilege. But the person that posted this workaround suggests not to do that unless one knows what one is doing - and I clearly don't, so I'd rather not tell my colleagues (or beta users) to run this command.Įventually, I was going to get an Apple Developer license and properly sign the app, but in the meantime, I'm wondering if anyone has any solutions (that don't involve running esoteric commands via Terminal)?Īpp can delete from Launchpad from the standard user account without admin privilege Hi Guys, When I do that, the application actually comes up without problems. The only workaround I have found on the internet is to run the following command from the command-line: My app is not signed, but I actually have "System Preferences->Security & Privacy->General->Allow apps downloaded from" set to "Anywhere", so Gatekeeper shouldn't be an issue. I get the option of "Move to Trash" and "Cancel". But when I then run the application, I get an error dialog with the text you see in the title of this question.I can still run the "dmg" and the app gets put into the Applications folder. But if I upload that same dmg file to somewhere on the Web (to share with colleagues), the following happens after it's downloaded by anyone - including me: If I run this dmg on the machine that I created it on, the installer comes up and lets me put the app into the Applications folder where I can subsequently run it from. I have developed a Java based app, XXX.app, that I have packaged (using 'jpackage') into installers for various platforms.
